State of the Characters Meme

Name: Felix Harrowgate

Current state of mind: Generally pleased with life. At times, crafty. Looking forward to being the prettiest boy in school for his senior year, since Pietro is graduating. (So I guess I should add "shallow" to the list, too.)

Places likely to be found: The library, his room, Caius' room, Remus' room. Alternatively, lost.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): I've been searching for a good way to get Felix to learn astral projection! And with Topher and Paul around, maybe now is a good time. :D

I'd also love to have Felix try to help other students with their nightmares, or come up with more ghost-related plots. Since Felix published a story in SHIFT basically confirming the existence of ghosts to the world, it would be neat to have some consequences for that. I just don't know what!

Sharon Smith

Current state of mind: Upbeat. In a continuous state of 'People are stupid' and 'People are stupid' in a tone where you could replace stupid with adorable. She will continue to be happy while she's well loved by her collection of family, friends, and playthings

Places likely to be found: The woods, wandering the hallways as a cat, begrudgingly studying in common rooms, lurking in the rafters with Clint :-) Also, Stark tower when she needs to love on Tony and Lucky

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): I have nothing specific planned for Sharon other than demanding adoration and tackling people. I mean, at some point she'll realize that Steve is graduating and may have to be convinced that she has to stay at the school and keep human-socializing, but I doubt it will dawn on her before May. Also, by the end of the year Sharon will pick a "birthday". That's really all I have planned for the cat.

Steve might have to sit down with her and explain that he's graduating soon, so they can talk about what they're going to do. After the other thing, though- we have time.

Steve Rogers | Patriot

Current state of mind: Right now, he's good, if a little tired of winter and is really feeling senioritis. In a little under a week, things are going to start shaking up for him in a big way. He's going to be very grouchy at all times after sometime early next week.

Places likely to be found:
Westchester: The gym, library or art room, or jogging outside.
The Stark Brownstone: The gym, the workshop, his or Tony's room.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up):
Plot: Steve is about to find out what Tony's been doing, and it's not going to go over well. After that, the Avengers begin to form, and he'll be very busy with that. Some vigilante-ing will be happening, and eventually he'll get recruited by SHIELD as well.

One of the biggest things I want to focus on right now is building and strengthening the relationships he's already made, particularly within what will be the Avengers, have him slowly move into a more leadership role, and crime fighting. He's moving more away from the school right now, but will likely draw back into it at a later date, when he starts TAing the art classes.

EDIT: DUH. I totally forgot. Steve is getting outed as mutant in a couple weeks. Its not accidental, but it wasn't planned, either- circumstances are such that he decides being outed is worth what he needs to do.

Clint Barton | Hawkeye

Current state of mind: Busy. He's keeping himself too distracted to worry about what might be around the corner. But between training with Philip, flight lessons, time at the range, and tutoring sessions, the only real downtime he has is takeout at the Stark Building while hanging out with Lucky. (He denies any evidence of him exploring the ventilation systems there too. JARVIS can keep his big mouth shut.)

Places likely to be found: Good question. Ask Philip. Otherwise, he's probably at the range.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): There will be a thing coming up where Clint SORT OF gets outed. It's not like he's going to be handing his name out to the press, and he'll have shooting glasses on, but certain people will know it's him. There may be some fallout from that.

Also, he'll be pissed off when he's not allowed to go search for Abby when she goes missing, so will end up going full vigilante mode with Noriko. He's getting a taste for that vigilante thing.

Otherwise, I welcome any Stark Building scenes for him, since he's around there most weekends now. And, well, most anyone really. I love scenes with him. Any other archery lovers? Inara?

Oh and Pietro is gonna feel REALLY bad that his association with Abby is responsible for her being targeted because WHOOPS NOT THE RIGHT GREEN-HAIRED SISTER so idek if Clint will know about that but if he does... could be a thing?

Current state of mind: Curious and content. Mostly curious about romantic things, as he has potential crushes on both Laura and Sharon but he really only knows how to be someone's brother and not their boyfriend.

Places likely to be found: Any place that other people are. Diaval doesn't like to be alone, as a human. When he's shifted he's usually by himself, seeing how far he can fly and still find his way back to the school.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): No real plans, but he did promise Sharon he'd try to shift into a cat form! He enjoys time spent with his fellow shifters and generally soaking up attention by being as adorable as possible.

Current state of mind: Dissatisfied. He's pretty done with this school (and is sure it's done with him) and is holding out for the end of the year pretty much just because he said he would. He's still TAing and he'll still offer research help if it's asked for, but he's not putting himself out there.

The problem is, he still doesn't know what he should be doing instead.

Places likely to be found: Library, gym, history classroom, his room

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): I'd ultimately like more chances to have him be the sketchy, machiavellian bastard he secretly is, but I'm not entirely sure how to go about it. In general, though, he could just use more play time.

Current state of mind: Restless. Now that graduation looks like a real thing, he just wants to be DONE already and move on to the next thing. Irvine is stoked about the band forming, and about getting out on his own, and he just wants the future to get here already.

Places likely to be found: The stable, the music room, the rec room. Irvine likes to hang out where people are. By now, only the very newest students wouldn't have met him at least once. Irvine talks to everybody.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): I'd love for Irvine to take on a JVX mission with some of the other kids! Being a part of something is really motivating for Irvine, and he can actually be disciplined and focused when it's important. Otherwise, I have no plans, because Irvine typically does not make plans. :)

Damon Salvatore | Incubus

Name: Damon Salvatore

Current state of mind: Broken. Since early January, he's been in a state of moodiness, depression, and paranoia, and his mind isn't running on all cylinders. He has been to see Xavier, and is currently working with Betsy, but his shields have been demolished, and his ability to dreamwalk was stripped. He's now left with compulsion he's afraid to use and a hunger he's refusing to feed, and, in Sage's own words, is clearly compromised.

It doesn't help that he tried to deny his feelings for Lydia for the longest time, and now there's just no way around it. He just has to suck it up and deal with it the best way he knows how. Which usually involves a lot of liquor.

Places likely to be found: The X-Factor headquarters (couches or gym) or his own loft above the Dusty Bookshelf.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): If you want a scene with an actual nice, vulnerable Damon, now's the time to do it. He's being forced to review what he's done with his life and how it's affected him, along with all the bad decisions he's made, and he's at a crossroads. He could tip purely sociopath or stumble over to the side of good...

In the meantime, he's working on expanding X-Factor with Sage (and her judgey eyes), while trying to figure out how to sate his hunger without feeding off of humans. (Essentially, he needs a psychic bloodbag.)

Current state of mind: Pretty good, actually. He's in love. <3

NOT THAT HE WOULD EVER SAY THAT. But he's in a suspiciously good mood lately.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): He'll be taking Ianto (and thus also Daniel) under his wing. Sort of. [Torchgate 13, assemble!!!]
Mostly I'm keeping him out of trouble for now for the sake of my own mental health. He's generally around and happy to flirt with anyone. In the future, though, if anyone wants to bring in a character who was involved with the Facility, I'd love to have one of the mutants he recruited show up. Like, he'll feel awful, but he'd also be relieved.

Current state of mind: A little stressed, but very content right now.

Places likely to be found: Over at Sarah Lawrence, the coffee shop in town, the library, an empty room studying, his and Kurt's room, or the music room.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): Coming up is stuff about Kurt's family, and what results from that. They're also still happily planning their wedding.

One thing I would really love to do is build Blaine up more in the staff side of the school. Show him being friends and/or working with the other junior staff members, or things that have to do with his relationships with his students- tutoring, helping out, or just the awkward "so you caught your music TA raiding the freezer in his pajamas" type stuff.

Wanda Maximoff | Scarlet Witch

Current state of mind: Slightly unsettled, largely content. There's a lot going on in her life, but she's made some decisions so that's helping. And Pietro hasn't done anything too stupid lately.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): Wanda's made the (slightly impulsive) decision to out herself via writing for the next edition of SHIFT, so she's going to be dealing with the fallout from that. I don't have anything specific in mind, though.

Current state of mind: Y’know what? Harley’s a little bit over it. All the boys are gay or have kissed Victor, and she still doesn’t know what to make of the whole Vance thing, and now mutants are out and the school is out and she’s just kind of given up on being scared. Also on dating. Basically she’s surrendered to nothing ever making sense ever, and looks for the bright side of things.

Places likely to be found: Anywhere she’s not supposed to be? Stealing stuff? Mostly the stealing’s just for practice now, she’s getting pretty good. Also the gym. She’s got her parkour-gymnastics-fighting style thing that she’s been learning.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): I would love to get her romantically involved at some point? I know she’s challenging because her thinking is, uh… non-linear? >.> But she’s not such a kid anymore. She tried being more grown up over the summer and it didn’t really pan out for her, but there are younger kids at the school now, and she’s becoming more emotionally mature.

…just, y’know, in her very Harley Quinn way. XD But still, she's now in the place where I could see something romantic sneaking up on her.

Also, anything involving her stealing or spying are always fun! I imagine she's accumulated quite a variety of interesting gadgets from the labs by now...

Current state of mind: Business as Usual: Proactively considering the future, in regards to mutant kind, but also the more mundane things like should I slow myself down so I don't accidentally graduate before Kon? MEANWHILE--continuous service interruptions to his thinking brain due to the fact that he's getting regularly shagged. Which is distracting. Super distracting. And kind of amazing. But did he mention distracting?

Places likely to be found: Classrooms, training rooms, using gym equipment, watching the basketball team play while he does schoolwork from a safe distance, his dorm room, random rooms attached to a computer or tablet

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): You will see a reoccurring theme where I don't have major plans for my characters right now >.> Tim would love to help people work with their powers, and suss out some kinks. ((Slow player is slow though, so... playing logs in regards to this might be difficult, but CHATTING about the process and playing things such as results sounds a lot easier!))

Molly Hayes | Princess Powerful

Current state of mind: Conflicted between missing her parents and enjoying mutant school, with a side of cabin fever.

Places likely to be found: Everywhere, honestly. She hasn't found any spaces she considers hers, yet. Snacks and tv are always good bets, she's often Nintendo DSing on the couch though, and she's probably going to start skating in the gym soon.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): While stuff with her parents is going to start coming to a head in the next six months, I mainly want wacky hijinks with her. All the crazy stuff that a 12 year old mutant with other kids and minimal supervision can get up to. Let's give the headmasters a headache. :D

Current state of mind: Um, better than it was? He’s still gruff and easily annoyed, but he’s not the new kid anymore, and I assume everyone’s gotten used to him, in their way. Even if that way is trading insults every time they see each other. >.> But still!

Also, THE SLURS ARE GONE. He has learned. Well, he has at least learned to avoid them, and has a general idea of why. He’s no scholar, is what I’m saying, but it was never his intention to bully. He’s just dumb like rocks, and used to very harsh treatment. He’s getting that he won’t encounter that (…much…) here, but still doesn’t see anything wrong with his anti-social behavior. He just never learned another way to behave.

Places likely to be found: In the woods! He likes the relative quiet, and doesn’t get bothered much out there. He can also be found in the cafeteria (at times he’s not likely to encounter many other people), in class at least semi-regularly, and in his room/the library. The library is for homework purposes, he doesn’t have his own computer. I imagine he’s a real pain in the ass while he’s there, haha.

Really, I’m hoping someone can get through to him. He needs someone (other than Becky, lol) to understand him the way he is, with all those rough edges. It doesn’t mean putting up with his bullshit, but hearing the meaning behind his words and respecting that? That’s how he’ll get better.

Potential danger room or campus event: I really want him to rescue someone from something? It can be a real or perceived danger (the latter would be HILARIOUS when he figured it out), but he needs the opportunity to be heroic, because I swear he's not such a bad guy. He’ll ruin the heroics by saying something stupid after, of course, but hopefully actions speak louder than words?

Current state of mind: Bubbling with excitement. Over...pretty much everything. Over Peter, who is not her boyfriend (they haven't talked about that) but is pretty much the best thing since organic circuitry. Over her senior year. Over her work on the team body armor. Over her work with SI. Over her application to MIT. She's just. She's really excited, okay?

And, okay, there was that mess up on the journals and she feels really bad about that, and she's probably avoiding a certain number of people, not because she's angry but because she feels bad.

Places likely to be found:

The school: Her workshop (which does have a lock on the door yes - accessible by Peter, Tony, and Steve - but you can knock), her room.

The Stark Building: Tony's workshop, her room, the common kitchen, the common entertainment room.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): Kitty is pretty open at the moment for anything people want of her. She's got a lot going on, but loves helping people but she also loves the fact that the guy she's dating shares a workshop with her so she pretty much can order food down there and never come out if she wants to, right? What? What was she saying?

Current state of mind:

A mess. She'll be getting it under control after tomorrow, more or less - or at least, she'll be hiding it. But Stryker's people, and Nico's near-death, have shaken her far more than she wants to admit, and have forced her to acknowledge that "pretending" to be normal doesn't mean she really believes she is. It's also dredged up a lot of buried anger, which she's going to channel in not-especially-positive ways.

Places likely to be found:

She'll be scarce for a few days until some of the bruises have faded, but normally: the rec room (especially late at night), the dance studio, Kitty's, Becky's, Cal's, or Vance's rooms, Empire Records, or Kitty's apartment at the Stark Building

Illyana's going to be seeking revenge against the guy who beat Nico up. Beyond that, I'd like to see her make a few other bad choices (Harry??), meet some of the new kids, and deal with Kitty, Cal, and Irvine's impending graduation.

Current state of mind: He has an actual radio show! That alone is enough to delight him. Other than that, he's generally being...Cecil-y. It's hard to describe in any other terms.

Current state of mind: Uneasy. She has at least accepted Daken's arrival, but doesn't have to like it, and doesn't have to trust that he'll do the right thing. These fears will soon be confirmed when a little birdie (or kitty) happens to tell her exactly what's been going on with Rahne. Then she's going to be very displeased.

Places likely to be found: The woods. The gym. The cafeteria. Her room.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): She really needs (and wants) to spend more time with Diaval, but she's just gotten so distracted with this Daken thing. BROTHERS AMIRITE?

Seriously, John, she's coming for you.

Otherwise, i'm kind of at a loss with her. I rather think she'll be leaving the school for awhile at the end of the year. Maybe to take a year off. Maybe she will take her GED and ask the headmasters for an early graduation. From there... maybe a walkabout. Her biggest problem is not wanting to leave John alone at the school.

Current state of mind: Simon is doing alright right now. He's balancing his love life, his school life, and his work as well as can be expected (he thinks). He's even very proud of his sister and her own love life (even if he's still side-eying Doug.)

Places likely to be found: The infirmary, the pool, the running trails, or his room.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): Simon and River will be involved in an incident in the coming months, which may result in some angst. However, it will also clue them in on a lot.

Otherwise, Simon's just learned a bit more about his power and its potential for the future, which may keep him busy in terms of research. I'm wide open if anyone needs him for anything, especially 'family'. He's being very supportive of JP right now.

Tony Stark | Iron Man

Current state of mind: Not good. He's gone into full-blown "must deal with the weight of the world on my own" mode. His intentions are good, but it's doubtful anyone's going to thank him for it.

Places likely to be found: Workroom. Maybe his apartment if Steve drags him out. Occasionally wandering around the school while visiting.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): Well, he's currently flying around in a suit of armor blowing up his own company's factories. As you do. That's going to come bite him in the ass fairly soon, but he might eventually get some good things out of it. After the yelling.

The armor is here to stay, though.

Good! He's busy - a little too busy, actually, but he likes it. Things are looking pretty bright.

I think Doug has a role coming up in something with Harry, but I'd love to see him get involved as support in a few other things. Also, he needs to meet people, whether he likes it or not.

Current state of mind:

Varies by Lu, but overall positive. She's settled in with Cindy (no offense to Eileen, but Cindy's roommate left and she couldn't resist), has made a few friends, and coming out went better than she'd anticipated (though she really hadn't expected problems). Orange!Lu is more than a little nervous about having been talked into Jay and Irvine's band, Purple's grumbling about the cold, and Neutral's grumbling about the fact that every guy she gets interested in is in a relationship, but none of them are considering these Real problems.

Lu's going to be kidnapped by Mojo minions soon-ish, and will spend some time as a gladiator before being rescued. Things will also be coming to a head with the John/Lu/Rahne triangle.

Other than that, I'd like her to meet a few of the girls and make some friends.

Current state of mind: Twitchy. School is boring, and there's only so much she can get out of annoying Phil and making out with Clint, as much as she enjoys both of those. The side training they're doing is good too, but she has no good impression of the various teams running around. For the moment, anyway.

Anything you'd like to do with them (or plots coming up): Getting kidnapped is going to knock her down several pegs, but we'll see where she ends up after all that. Mostly she really, really needs to meet some new people.
