I still need to talk to Kate about when Jack has/will visit his mom, but I figure that she's going to try to re-establish contact now that he's graduating.

So I'm thinking Jack could bring up Steve's mother for the same reason, and maybe let slip something like "I know she wants to see you graduate" and spark that whole thing. XD Probably Jack has been periodically visiting her for a couple months, and occasionally sending her updates.

...he can't help it, he's really moved by a mother that loves her son that much, okay?
